The next step is production or the actual recording/filming of the spot. Production is the most costly phase of the whole process. In this phase, every minute counts. There are crewmembers paid by the hour, talent paid by the day, equipment on a daily rental, location and permit fees -- all adding up. Some poorly planned productions have run thousands of dollars over budget, most of which could have been avoided. That’s why pre-production the planning of production is so important; to make sure there is no time or money wasted.
